Holly head Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to recover a motor boat, at anchor in a position where it was a danger navigation, the owner of the vessel had apparently fallen overboard the previous evening, his body was recovered from west shore by the coastguard as the ILB launched, the ILB towed the casualty into the marina where it was the subject to police and coastguard investigation, the ILB then returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a person stranded on a pontoon, the casualty was an elderly man  apparently quite frail, and had been left been stranded, and his family were very concerned for his welfare, the ILB picked him up from the pontoon and brought him ashore ,the ILB then returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a person in trouble on a wind surfer, when the ILB arrived on scene the owner of the board had lost his sail and was having difficulty getting ashore, the casualty was assisted to the shore where he was treated by an ambulance crew for fatigue, the ILB then returned to station.

H/H Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to see if any one was in trouble following debris from a wind surfer; after arriving on scene the ILB determined that the sail and mast were that from an incident 2 days previous, the ILB then returned to station.

Conwy ILB were out on exercise when H/H coastguard that they go and check two fishing vessels close in to shore near Great Ormes head, this was in response to a 999 call from a member of the public, the ILB arrived on scene and found both vessels safe and well, and after making contact with both crews the ILB returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a motor boat with engine problems, when the ILB arrived on scene the casualty had been able to start the engine and was proceeding with some difficulty towards the marina, The ILB escorted the vessel into the marina, and after making sure all was secure the ILB returned to station.

ILB launched to a report of a kite surfer which had been blown out to sea by the Beacons jetty, lifeboat proceeded to go and search, but fortunately other surfers in the area had been able to assist the person in difficulties. ILB ensured the surfer was safe and well and then returned to station.

ILB launched initially to reports of a kite surfer in trouble off Penmaenmawr sailing club. On arrival, it was actually found to be a sailing dinghy, of which the owner was struggling. Pen sailing club had already launched their safety boat to assist. ILB ensured all parties were safe and well at the sailing club and then returned to station.

ILB requested to launch to a 22foot fishing vessel with engine failure off the Great Ormes Head. On arrival the vessel was found to be at anchor. After initial assessment, a tow was set up and the vessel was towed into Conwy Marina. Due to tidal conditions the tow was re routed around past the fairway buoy and up the channel. Boat was safely moored in Conwy Marina and the lifeboat returned back to station at 21:30.

In response to a police call, Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a teenage boy who was in a worried state aboard a moored vessel.  The vessel had broken down and the boys father gone ashore to get assistance, this being some hours earlier had made the boy very worried and he phoned the police,  When the ILB arrived on scene the father had returned with a dingy, the ILB escorted the dingy and passengers to the shore, and then returned to station.

In response to a 999 call, Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of 2 fishermen thought to be cut off by the incoming tide, when the ILB arrived on scene the casualties were found to be safe and well, and with good knowledge of the banks and tides. No assistance was needed or required, and the ILB returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a yacht that had lost its rudder, because of the conditions and limits of the ILB it was decided to request the help of Llandudno AWB, when the ILB arrived on scene 2 members of the crew were put aboard, and assisted the crew of the AWB in getting a line aboard, it was difficult to tow the casualty with no rudder in the sea conditions, and it was easier for the ILB to do a side tow, Llandudno escorted the vessels into the channel, and the ILB put the casualty into the marina , after making everything secure the ILB returned to station.

H/H Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a yacht thought to be in trouble, when the ILB arrived on scene it was discovered that the yacht had come from Morecambe and the crew were inexperienced, they were using a road map for navigation, and were unsure of their position. The ILB escorted them into the channel and on to the marina, after making sure the casualty and crew were safe the ILB returned to station.

In response to a May day call, Hollyhead coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a boat with engine failure, when the ILB arrived on scene the casualty was taken in, tow because of the size of the vessel Holyhead also paged Llandudno ALB. Llandudno ALB stood by, one of the crew of Conwy ILB was a mechanic, and while the vessel was under tow he was able to get both engines running, the casualty was escorted into Conwy, and after making it secure the ILB returned to station.

In response to a call from one of our DLA’s, Holyhead coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to someone in distress in the vicinity of the marina, after a thorough search nothing was found. Holyhead had a recording of the distress call and in the end decided it was a hoax. Conwy ILB then returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a motorboat with engine failure, when the ILB arrived on scene the casualty was found to be out of fuel, the ILB put a crew member aboard, and began a tow, the lifeboat crew member was able to get the casualties engine going by bleeding the reserve tank, and was able to continue under her own power, the ILB escorted the vessel to the beacons jetty where it was recovered, the ILB then returned to station.

Holyhead requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a yacht with engine failure, unable to negotiate the channel with adverse wind conditions, when the ILB arrived on scene a crew member was put aboard, the casualty was then taken in tow, the lifeboat crew member was able to start the engine and the vessel continued under its own power ,escorted by the ILB ,when the casualty was secure in the marina the ILB returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested the ILB to launch to a vessel with engine failure somewhere between Conwy and Llandudno, after launching the updated position of the vessel was underneath the Great Orme lighthouse. Due to the state of tide, the ILB went through the channel and proceed across the bay. Vessel had 4 adults and 1 child onboard. A tow was set up and ILB proceeded to tow the vessel into Conwy. Tow took longer than normal due to the strength of the spring tides. On entering Conwy river approaches, the vessel was secured at the beacons jetty and recovered by the owner. Boat returned to the boathouse at 18:05, refuelled and ready for service.

Holyhead Coastguard requested ILB to launch to suspected vessel collision with the beacons jetty with possible persons in the water. ILB launched and made best speed to the beacons jetty. In the meantime, first informants who were a group of friends socialising in the area, gave the coastguard more information. The vessel had collided with the jetty with persons onboard visible. Due to the strong tidal conditions and possible scale of search area, Llandudno ALB was launched also. The casualty vessel was found by both lifeboats north of the Great Orme. Vessel was checked for damage and the condition of persons aboard. All found to be okay and the vessel proceeded to continue on passage to Birkenhead. Both lifeboats stood down. Returned to station at 03:43.

Holyhead Coastguard requested ILB to launch to a 27ft Regal motor cruiser with electrical problems. On arrival, one crew member who is a mechanic boarded the vessel to try and rectify the problem with no success. A tow was set up and after a long tow against the tide, the vessel was safely moored on a waiting pontoon in the river. ILB left the casualty vessel and returned to station and was made ready for service again at 18:40.

Incident 1

Conwy harbour office alerted Conwy ILB to their harbour launch, which had experienced difficulty while going to the assistance of a dismasted yacht, Holy head coastguard were informed and the ILB proceeded to the casualty, when the ILB arrived on scene the harbour vessel had been able to restart the engine, the stricken yacht was taken in tow and the ILB escorted them both to safety, the ILB then returned to station

Incident 2

Conwy ILB were on service to a harbour launch with engine difficulties, on its way to a dismasted yacht, the vessel was able to repair its engine and proceeded to tow the yacht , the ILB stood by and escorted both vessels to safety, when both vessels were secure the ILB returned to station.

Conwy ILB were on exercise when they came across a person who had fallen out of a KAYAK and was  unable to get back in, the lifeboat assisted and escorted the vessel to safety, Holyhead coast guard were informed. The ILB then completed their exercise and returned to station.

Incident 1

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a vessel on the sand banks, when the ILB arrived on scene the casualty had managed to refloat itself, and was able to carry on to Conwy under its own power, at that time Holy head diverted the ILB to another vessel with engine failure.

Incident 2

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a motorboat with engine failure, when the ILB arrived on scene they were joined by Llandudno Lifeboat, because of the sea state. It was decided that because of the vessels size and the sea conditions, it would be safer for the Llandudno ILB to tow it back to Llandudno in more sheltered conditions. Conwy ILB then returned to station.

Incident 1

Holyhead coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a Yacht on the sandbank, when the ILB arrived on scene it was able to reassure the casualty on when they would re-float and that the local Harbour authority was monitoring their situation, when everybody was happy with the situation the ILB was diverted to another incident.

Incident 2

Holyhead coastguard Requested Conwy ILB to divert from a vessel aground to another vessel aground, the occupants of the yacht had never been aground before and were concerned at the angle of the vessel on the bank, the ILB crew were able to reassure the crew aboard the yacht, and reported the incident to the harbour authority who monitored the situation, when all parties were happy with the situation the ILB returned to station.

Holyhead coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a Yacht towing in a vessel with engine problems, the skipper of the towing vessel was concerned about bringing the casualty up the narrow channel and into the marina, Conwy ILB took over the tow and made it safe in the marina, after making sure the casualty and occupants were secure the ILB returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a vessel with engine failure, when the ILB arrived on scene the casualty was having great difficulty getting up the channel under sail, the ILB crew stowed the sail and towed the vessel into Conwy harbour where the vessel and its crew were made safe on a pontoon, the ILB then returned to station.

Holyhead Coastguard requested Conwy ILB to go to the assistance of a small boat reported 1 mile offshore from  penmaenmawr. Possibly adrift in adverse weather conditions. When ILB arrived on scene vessel was found to be unmanned and believed to have parted from its moorings. The ILB took it under tow and conveyed it to Conwy where it was left on a Pontoon. ILB returned to station.

A red distress flare was sighted in the distance by the coxswain of a neighboring station, Moelfre. The lifeboat was launched and a search was made in the vicinity of the sighting. Coastguard shore crews assisted. A white flare was launched from the lifeboat to assist the search.

Nothing was found and there were no further reports.

2 males were fishing in Conwy bay in a small motor boat. Their main outboard failed, due to a fuel leak from carb. Their auxilliary outboard, 4 hp, was unable to allow them to make way against a strong tidal flow, they deployed their anchor but were in danger of being washed out to sea or aground on the bar.

Persons ashore alerted coastguards who sent shore units to assess, coastguard requested launch and whilst en route casualty vessel also requested assistance via mobile phone. Lifeboat arrived and discovered vessel needed immediate assistance and took vessel under tow. Casualty vessel was left on mooring in Conwy river. owner was left on boat as he was sleeping there. One passenger was conveyed to shore in Conwy marina by the lifeboat.
