Nine-year-old Archie Fowler from Sychnant Pass, Conwy has been lending friends and neighbours a hand with chores in return for donations to his favourite charity

Whatever the weather, the kind-hearted Ysgol Porth y Felin pupil has found a way to make some cash to support the volunteer crew at his local station.

Archie fell love with the RNLI after hearing about rescue missions from the family window cleaner Gavin Chamberlain, who is a volunteer crew member at Conwy. On Sunday, Archie was given a warm welcome when he presented the volunteer RNLI crew at Conwy with a cheque for £70.

Dad Simon Fowler says:

‘During the summer holidays, Archie asked if he could do some odd jobs for friends and neighbours such as washing cars, windows and some gardening. Then more recently during the winter he was helped to clear snow from cars.

‘He absolutely loves the RNLI and became hooked during a family holiday to Tenby when he was five. We were lucky enough to see the lifeboat launch on a real shout and from then on he has wanted to help. He  loves Gavin coming to clean our windows and hangs on his every word about being a lifeboatman.

‘The crew made a real fuss of Archie when he visited the station with his brother Harry. I have no doubt he’ll now start planning what he can do next to raise funds.'

Archie is a member Stormforce – the RNLI’s lifeboat club for children.
